Our Story Nexbelt, a company seven years in the making, is one of the pioneers of the ratchet belt system in the USA. While they did not invent the ratchet mechanism, they have re-engineered and improved upon it. This technology has been popular in Asia for the past 25 years, and it was one of Nexbelt's founders, Eddie, who discovered and brought it back to his business partner, Tom, to explore ways of enhancing it.
One of the first things Nexbelt did was to upgrade the leather quality, something that many companies overlook nowadays. They utilized the existing ratchet mechanism but designed a unique buckle that resembles a pin buckle, with a hidden ball marker behind the face - a feature for which they have obtained U.S. patents.
